Lodge Decorative trivets
« on: May 23, 2015, 05:24:35 PM »
I was looking thru the Lodge Foundry file and noticed the page with the Lodge cast Iron Decorative Trivets, Does anyone have one/any of these, Are they marked on the back Lodge or do they have a unique identifier on them and apx what era were these manufactured, I run across quite a few trivets but there really does not appear to be much interest in them.

Hello Valerie,

Here is a thread that discusses the Decorative Trivets.
http://www.griswoldandwagner.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1395518277/8#8

and yes they are marked with the Item Numbers shown on the Trivets Pdf...

Looking at the catalogs (WAGS Members pdf's), I see these Trivets in the 1968 Catalog.  They were not shown in the Mid 50's catalog, so I would say late 50's thru the 60's thru... ???  as the decorative trivets were a 'hot' item back in that time period...

Thanks Cheryl now I know what to look for when I flip these over. Trivets are pretty common around my area but most I see are from an Amish foundry or are not marked, I have 4 hanging from my mantle, they serve both decorative and functional purpose when I put things on my wood stove to warm them or keep them warm

I have 'quite' a few... :) :)

Only need a few more until I have the complete Griswold set!  and then, of course, I have a bunch of others that came on the tray lots that I had to buy, to get the Griswolds!  ::) ::)

And a couple of big, nice heavier ones that are in use in the kitchen because I need them to sit hot CI on. :)

I look for these all the time, but have only found the # 542 Eagle Laurel.  I had two of them and gave one to a good friend that does a lot of camp oven cooking.
