I purchased 3 items at a local thrift store, A Singer 412G sewing Machine in carry case, A box of attachments and this pan, Total price $31.00. I think this was marked at $4.00 ;D
And yes the quality seems very good, nicely hinged, milled smooth surfaces and it fits together tightly, I just don't know why they call it an omelette pan though, I make omelettes all the time and I use a regular skillet or a griddle
Now what is the difference between omelettes and scrambled eggs anyway :o
Scrambled eggs are beaten eggs poured into a pan and then stirred and moved about as they cook until they reach the desired firmness, and then they are put on the plate.
An Omlette is beaten eggs poured into a pan and maybe they get stirred a little at the beginning, but not much. As the eggs just start to firm up a little, other ingredients are traditionally added to the still somewhat liquid eggs, cheese, vegetables, meats, and finally the finished omlette is folded over onto itself with the added ingredients in the middle, kind of like a taco but the shell is eggs and shouldn't be crunchy unless you waaaaay over cooked them.
With this pan, you fill one side with eggs, and then add the other ingredients. When mostly cooked, you flip the omlette onto the other side, and what was the top now gets cooked also.
