Help ID'ing my old pan?

I restored my husband's grandmother's old cast iron skillet last week. I wish I took a before picture, but to give you an idea, everything (except the inside bottom of the pan) was covered in crud. After restoring, i was able to reveal a number on the handle and underside of the pan! There's some serious pitting as well on the underside.

My husband's aunt claims the skillet is very old, but you know how family lore can be exaggerated. We know for sure it belonged to his grandmother since at least the early 1960's.

The bottom is smooth, other than the pitting there is the number 2 at about the 5:30 position. No other markings or text.

There is a #7 on the top of the handle.  The skillet is right at 9 3/4" in diameter.

Any ideas on the maker and approximate age?

Beth, would you post a picture of the complete underside of the pan?  That MIGHT help ID it.

The pouring spouts tell me it does have some age to it.

You did a good job restoring it... looks great!

Too bad about the pitting on the bottom, but it's part of its history and adds to its character.  Besides, I've got a few age spots on me, too. :)

Beth, I use an iPhone app called Image Size. I think somebody on here mentioned it and I downloaded it. Works great and it's free.

Beth, I don't know for sure who made that skillet.  Now seeing the smooth bottom on it, I'm going to say it is an unknown foundry.  It looks smooth on the cooking surface and well cast.  The large pour spouts and smooth bottom would fit somewhere in the 40's or 50's in my mind. I usually see the sulfur pitting on pieces a little older than that though, so not able to help on the date.  It will continue to cook just fine and give you many more years of service. Great to keep it in the family.
