John Wright California Acorn Pan

Just ran across these pictures of a John Wright California Acorn pan I have.  It is easy to confuse with the Lodge pan if you don't know what you are looking at.

Overall, the Wright pan is smaller and the acorns don't go to the edge of the pan.  Only black iron as far as I know.  Only Wright one I've ever seen.  Just as guess at age, maybe 1970s.

The Lodge pan is significantly larger, the acorns nearly touch the outside of the pan, and it comes in chrome and black iron. Lodge picture is number 3.

And yes folks, there really is a California Acorn.  I think it is the California Live Oak, Quercus agrifolia.

Wow what an acorn. You have to shoot the squirrels with double O buckshot. I sure never saw acorns that large. Thanks for posting the pics.  :o :o :o

Yes, Thanks for the pic of the acorn. Could never figure out how the mold was of an acorn. We have some here that we call Burr oaks. The acorns are about 1-1 1/4".

Looks like there is a little variation in the size of the opening in the handles between the lodge and wright
