Convention Breakdown for those that missed out. First off what a perfect spot for a cast iron cookware convention, Pennsylvania, the land of foundries and antique shops.

Thursday Night the Camp Oven Cookout. Free for attendees. Great time cooking and eating! If you are curious or want to learn how to cook with camp ovens you need to attend. This year we had the master of the camp oven Tom P. in attendance, it is Tom who started this annual tradition at WaGS conventions.  A good time of meet, greet and eat.

Friday, presentations. A lot of information presented. From the history of Pennsylvania foundries, rare pieces, show and tell, stump the experts, to BIrmingham Stove & Range history as told by office memos. Then a nice banquet and business meeting followed, then to the hospitality room for more conversation with friends.

Saturday, the swap meet. Some pictures have been shown here of the iron available for sale. Some very nice pieces exchanged hands. Then the favorites competition. Beautiful displays of iron and toys. This is where you see those pieces that you never see anywhere else. Then the final banquet and to the hospitality room.

Being with other people who enjoy collecting cast iron cookware, the networking, renewing old acquaintances and placing faces with the names on the computer screen are a big part of any convention. So this is some of what was missed this year, if you haven't been to one you ought to consider going, it's a great time.

If I left anything out feel free to add it.
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
