Thanks,  I'm not afraid of maintaining my everyday ware but im nocast iron restoration expert,  lol
so I'm waiting until I find out more about it, if it is an important piece I'd rather get it to someone who will really appreciate it

Tim,

It is likely a Griswold produced skillet based on the ghosty seen in this post earlier in this post. http://www.griswoldandwagner.com/forum/index.php?topic=9793.40

If you are not experienced with restoring Cast Iron, your easiest way to strip it would be to place in a plastic bag and saturate with Oven Cleaner (yellow cap Easyoff).

Scrub well with stainless scrubby (soap and water) and then into a 50/50 water/white vinegar mix to remove rust. (Check every 30 minutes, as vinegar is acidic and can eat the iron if left in too long).  :smiley:
