Roy Meadows gave an incredible talk on 27 years of ERIE skillets and I'll be posting the entire information with pix on the "DARK SIDE", so that you can now id the different series of ERIE skillets.  WHAT a GREAT talk!!  However, my camera batteries died, so I don't have pix, but others do.

Gregg.......Is that THE John Wright as in John Wright Cast Iron?????????  Or is he connected to the company somehow??  Or is he a club member with the same name??  If it is THE JW, ask him what this is and how it is used.  I was watching but didn't bid because I didn't know what it was.  No Bids - No Sale.

Hope you found some new batteries..........Wish I was there.  Looks like some of us are missing a good one.

Thanks,       Scott

in the middle of the swap meet right now.  I ran out of batteries for the second time, but Becky is out getting new ones and I'll post some pix.  We have 14 different sellers set up and iron and aluminum is 'flying' around.

Hey Gregg........Great pictures you are posting.  In  a couple of your pics it looks like there is a large scotch bowl sitting on the table in front of a dutch oven,  YES?--NO?.  You haven't seen any Griswold Flat Bottom #4 or #5 scotch bowls "flying around" the swap meet have you??  If so, could you get me a price??  I got outbid on a #5 on ebay a while back.  Those two don't come up too often.

Thanks,          Scott

There was one in the "MY FAVORITES", but none for sale that I saw.  ANyone else?

Just ended out Lobster bake foe the members at our house.  I believe everyone had a great time, I know I sure did!  Next year's convention is in YORK PA with a tour of the Wilton Foundry being schedule, as they still do some hand pouring.  I believe the dates are Oct 5, 6, 7, and 8 for next year's convention.  If you are not a member yet, you may want to join.  Get you golf clubs ready, as their will be another golf outing or TWO!

I miss the convention already!!

Gregg.....Thanks for checking on those scotch bowls.  They may show up just when I'm not expecting them to.

October 5, 6, 7, & 8 sounds great.  In fact I think if I signed up the wifey, I could even convince her to go.  She's been trying for years now to get me to go back east in the fall to see the leaves changing color.  Might even make it home in time for late deer season.  The tour of the Wilton foundry sounds interesting too!!

Sounds like your lobster bake was a success and I would expect that everyone had a great time.  Never to early to start thinking about the next convention.

Scott, my wife went to this year's convention wife or twins and had a great time.  She loved it so much she says she is going to win the FAVORITES next year and that I can't help.  I believe she became addicted this week!!

Scott,
I think Jim Hickling had a #4 F B Scotch bowl on his sales table and I don't think it sold. Don't recall what he was asking.

Great convention!!!

Really great sales and favorites. Dave had a great broiler display and there was some awesome iron.

Tracey and I are in Putnam Ct for the night and intend to lolly gag home. We are gonna hit the shops all the way south.

Greg,
Did a great job putting this together and the time spent at his house was super. If you ever get by I recommend the amber.

Thanks Greg for a great job.

Thanks for the info Troy.  Maybe I'll hear from Jim.  On the ebay #5, I bid higher than the book price,  but I guess I didn't bid high enough.  Enjoy your leisurely trip back home, and hope you find some treasures on your way.  I'm going to really try to make the next convention....already have the dates set aside.

Sounds like everyone is having a great time.   Would loved to be there.   We,  Jenny and I,  were going to be there.   But somehow we ended up buying a house this week.   Now is the "fun" time for us.   Nice old home,  about 120 years old.   Tying to spiffy it up before the move.

Greg,  really wanted to see you house in person.   Just like iron,  we like old houses.   Realy wanted to be there.   Hope people that went there took pictures besides all of the iron.  ;D

Steve,  this is a picture of her today.   Not much glory anymore.   It was aluminum sided in the 70's.   Lost what gingerbread she had and all of her scalloped siding.   She was built as a rental,  so she is nothing super fancy.   She was moved here in 1925 from her original location.   That became a gas station.   She sits across from the major church in the community.

This is how she looked in 1966.   They have all of the scalloped siding in vinyl siding now.   And there is places that make gingerbread stuff too.   Time for a restore.   But first,  the wiring.   Still most is knob and tube. :o

That should keep you busy Will and Jenny.  The trees in the rear yard have sure grown since 1966.  Does it have a full basement and attic?  Those are parts of a house that I miss here in California as few have basements and you have to have a pretty old house to have an attic.
