An information packed day of presentations, led off in the morning session with James Mummert's display and discussion on Orr and Painter followed by Online Bidding and the View from the Auctioneer by Mike Hobbs and then Larry Foxx and John Knapp conducting Show and Tell.  Afternoon kicked off with Roger Barfield on Use and Care of Camp Ovens which I'm sure gained some converts after the dinner the night before, Larry and John displayed the Repros and Fakes and involved everyone on a discussion of the rarities of the cast iron cookware collecting world and then Roger wrapped up with Navigating the Forum.

Hotel had a tough act to follow after the cookout but they delivered with a tasty Italian themed buffet.  No blood shed at the business meeting following dinner and I'll let El Presidente deliver official election results.

About half the group was at hospitality tonight while the others were either in a starch coma after dinner or busily pricing their items for the swap meet in the morning.

I know Daniel has a lot of pictures that he hasn't had time to upload yet, hopefully we get some more going tomorrow to show some of the action in the Swap meet and Favorites displays.

wow, what a great looking convention.  The views of the Mediterranean Sea from my hotel room are also pretty good here in Crete, but I wish I was in "ole St. Louie" with you guys!!

Nope, not for sale.  That was one of three sizes John Knapp had on his favorites table.  It is a sight to see those three together in one place.  :o

I know John has a number seven, eight, and nine oval waffle irons. I have never seen a number nine, the other two sizes yes, but not a number nine. It probably takes two people to lift it. The bases on those pieces are very fragile in comparison to the huge paddles. Griswold made those from the Patterns they bought from Savery in 1895. I have never seen a Savery one of them.

and I want to say THANK YOU to everyone.    You were all very kind and welcoming.    it was a wonderful first time experience!  Randy did a terrific job as a host,  and I cannot imagine all the work that went on behind the scenes.   I am very happy to have met all you folks that were there at the convention.  even my husband had a great time, though he does not have the interest in cast iron that I have.   you all made him feel so welcome,  now he wants to go to the next convention.   THANK YOU !!!! :)

Thanks Marge, I'm glad you and Darrell had a good time--I knew that you would ;)  Other first time conventioneers besides Marge and Darrell were, Andy Robillard from Chicago area, Eric Barry from MA, Grady Britt's wife Jean from NC, Dennis Powell and Matilde Ott from VA, Shirley Willard from IL, Regina Miller from CA and Mike Hobbs from IL.

That first picture was of James Mummert's Orr and Painter display during presentations, second one was John Knapp and Larry Foxx during Show and Tell with a couple of large griddles Mike Hobbs had brought in and the third pic was of Marge's quickly thinning swap meet table.  Please note that the deep fish fryer did not make it home with them, it had other plans with a Sportsman grill a little closer to St. Louis ::)

As members are traveling home, I wanted to express my thanks to all who attended and assisted in making this year's convention in St. Louis such a fun time and great success. We truly have a great group of people in WAGS who are so willing to share of their time, talent and for the right price-their treasures too!

I know more pics are coming, Eric Barry has some up on the WAGS Facebook page, Jeff Friend and Dennis McDowell took a bunch too.  Roger I'm sure has some more and if I can figure out how (read, my wife does it for me) to get them from my phone to the computer, I'll have some coming also.
